2026-10-14 · CPH Assistant Access
CPH Assistant Access can maintain a published article featured image and refresh that article’s Yoast social-image record without saving or republishing the article.
What changed
- Include the published-image repair and scoped legacy social-hook guard from the earlier maintenance overlays.
- After changing a published landscape attachment, refresh only the affected existing Yoast post indexable through its verified post builder and check saved image fields.
- Preserve explicit Yoast Open Graph and Twitter image overrides. Sites without Yoast retain the image maintenance workflow.
- Check supported SEO services and target identity before writing. Surface partial success and reconciliation needs if the image changed but SEO verification failed.
- Keep the article publication state, dates, text, taxonomy and social queue records intact. Preserve unrelated metadata callbacks and draft behavior.
Verification
- All 879 PHP regression assertions, settings checks, syntax checks and eight packaging tests passed.
- All 124 workflow assertions passed using the default harness and the native WordPress 6.6 and 7.1.3 hook dispatchers. Other WordPress services use fixtures.
- Independent review covered the exact-post SEO refresh, absent-plugin and error handling, explicit image overrides, and preservation of the earlier social-hook guard.
- The preceding live check verified displayed-image changes and restoration with all article/social state preserved, but exposed a stale Yoast social-image record. The installed Yoast 28.6 and 28.7 builder, social-image helper, indexable helper and repository sources were checked and matched for the narrow integration.
Rollout
Pending controlled rollout. These notes precede distribution. Installation and a live displayed-image/Open Graph preservation check will be recorded in a dated appended receipt.
Updating
- This cumulative overlay replaces only the Assistant Access entry point and image workflow files. Preserve every other helper, publisher component and existing setting.
- Verify baseline hashes and retain targeted backups before installing. Verify runtime and authenticated API behavior afterward.
- Use the dedicated attach-images route with the current article revision and a persisted intentional client request ID. Keep newly uploaded media parentless until attachment.
- Reconcile partial or uncertain operations using the saved receipt before another intentional write. A saved image association and a verified SEO refresh are separate results.
- Developed by Matthew X Murphy, MatthewxMurphy.com; software portfolio at BuiltNotBegged.com. Release owner: CreatorPublishingHub.com.
Scope and limitations
- This maintenance release does not create artwork or complete existing undersized-image or missing-image backfills.
- Scheduled articles and unrestricted article editing remain outside this repair.
- The optional SEO integration depends on compatible Yoast services and a usable existing target indexable. Unsupported active integration states return an explicit error rather than claiming a successful refresh.
- A site’s updated Open Graph output does not prove that an external social network has refreshed its own cached preview.
- External WordPress writers can race an operation. Image associations and SEO index persistence are not one database transaction; clients must reconcile partial results.
- Image changes affect the evidence revision. Earlier review records remain historical and do not approve replacement artwork.
Verified rollout — October 14, 2026 (America/Chicago)
Assistant Access 2026.10.14.003 is installed and verified on Creator Publishing Hub, Creator Newsdesk, The Factology Daily, The Daily Smirk, Love Lies Abroad, and Credit Repair Choices. Only the documented two runtime files changed. Other checked helpers, publisher versions and protected settings were preserved.
A live Creator Newsdesk verification changed an already published article to an existing byte-identical image attachment and restored the original. Both operations returned HTTP 200 with changed=true and completed operation receipts. The displayed article image and Open Graph image followed both changes. Complete article content, dates, terms, image records, publication state and social metadata remained unchanged apart from the intended temporary thumbnail association. No publish or social-send operation was requested.
This establishes a real image maintenance operation on Creator Newsdesk. File and runtime installation checks passed on all six sites. Final authenticated capabilities, workflow and guide reads passed on Creator Newsdesk, Creator Publishing Hub, The Factology Daily and Credit Repair Choices. The Daily Smirk capabilities read passed; its remaining reads and Love Lies Abroad final API reads were interrupted by a separate shared-server capacity incident. Those checks remain incomplete. This is not a claim of a changed-image test on every site. The unused probe attachment and private evidence are retained.
Existing undersized/missing images still need separately reviewed replacements. This release is not a bulk image backfill or approval of the test artwork.
The immutable build retains its pre-rollout notes. Archive SHA-256: bcaaa54290f3c7a5c012f8239adf9d870787028023ac9e5b98c10408b8da028f.
