2026-10-04 · CPH Muse Article Audio, Creator Newsdesk publishing worker
Keep corrupted articles out of new audio checkouts, use the selected site voices, and reject repeated text corruption before the Newsdesk publishing worker creates an article.
What changed
- Exclude articles containing three or more raw or encoded unknown-model markers across title and body from audio counts, queues, claims and completion. Add an exclusion hook for additional site rules while retaining publication, privacy and legal gates.
- Normalize stray literal backslash-space sequences for new narration claims. Existing claims retain their original text normalization and hashes; completed audio stays locked. Reject claim retries when the article text changed.
- Use the registered site voice when a new client claim omits a voice. Preserve explicit registered overrides. Love Lies Abroad advances its selected five-voice rotation after completed articles; simultaneous checkouts can use the same rotation voice.
- Add a deterministic Newsdesk publishing check for repeated unknown tokens and pervasive backslash-space corruption in prose. Save durable source holds before publication and skip held sources before another model call. Holds require explicit evidence-backed review, without automatic retries.
Verification
- 230 isolated WordPress checks passed, covering eligibility, all site voice profiles, legal gates, legacy and new text hashes, completion locks, fixture cleanup and newest-first ordering.
- Two independent processes contended for one checkout: one succeeded and one received a conflict. Six client tests passed, including durable default-voice intent and explicit-voice retries.
- Twenty-four publishing-guard tests passed. The exact worker patch compiled; three corrupt fixtures caused zero category or WordPress creation calls and clean content reached a fake transport. All five reported historical examples triggered the detector.
- Live authenticated checks from the agent workspace confirmed version and schema updates on all six sites, exact voice defaults, private API protection, and preserved administrator access. All 15 completed Muse jobs and 4,218 existing audio pointers were preserved. The five reported historical articles are ineligible for new audio work; one already completed narration remains locked.
- The installed publishing guard passed its 24 tests and isolated fake-transport checks after atomic deployment under the existing worker lock. Saved files and the private source-hold ledger were re-read. No publishing run or hardware narration was started.
Rollout
Live and verified on all six CPH publishing sites. The Newsdesk publishing guard is installed and will be loaded by the next normal worker run; no generation wave was started for this release. The updated coordination client was delivered to the agent workspace in a separate versioned directory, with customized clients and their state preserved.
Updating
- Operator-managed update of the existing Muse audio must-use component. Back up the database and component before updating; schema 2 adds a text-version field without replacing existing audio.
- Use the versioned coordination client for server voice selection and durable retries. Preserve customized agent clients and reconcile any existing checkout before changing clients or state formats.
- Install the publishing guard beside the existing Newsdesk worker under its normal run lock. The existing schedule can load it on its next run; no new generation wave or narration service restart is required.
Scope and limitations
- The quality checks detect specific corruption patterns; they do not certify accuracy, originality, legal clearance or all forms of unreadable prose. Historical articles are not automatically repaired or unpublished.
- The publishing guard covers the current Newsdesk pipeline. Other publishing paths still need their own review controls. Its durable source holds are separate from the operator failure-reporting feed.
- Muse performs synthesis. This release adds no customer billing, license-based audio entitlement or sales voice samples.
- Before rollback, stop agents and reconcile active claims using the new text normalization. Preserve jobs, receipts and uploaded media; do not restore an old database over newer work.
