2026-10-04 · CPH Muse Article Audio
Move article narration to Muse with exclusive agent checkout, verified audio uploads, completed-job locks and priority for sites with the largest available backlog.
What changed
- Introduce named-agent checkout with a private ownership token and durable retry identity. Other agents cannot take checked-out articles; stalled jobs require explicit release or administrator recovery.
- Validate uploaded audio against the checked-out article revision and voice, then save its attachment and lock the completed audio job. Existing narration is preserved and completed work leaves the queue.
- Provide a six-site client that prioritizes the largest available backlog, rotates tied sites and can check out the next article after completion. Taylor selects twenty voices from Muse’s existing catalog.
- Retire local speech generation for this workflow. Legacy audio upload routes cannot bypass the new checkout. Normal article editing, legal gates, publication and social state remain separate.
Verification
- Thirty-six isolated WordPress checks passed, including stale narration rejection, media completion, idempotent retries, legal gates and explicit recovery.
- Two independent PHP processes contended for one article; one obtained the checkout and the other received a conflict.
- Four client tests passed for priority, tie rotation, preserving an uncertain claim and avoiding duplicate uploads.
- Live checks passed on all six sites while retaining the requested four administrators and existing API credentials. The new audio review page rendered correctly. Existing narration remained unchanged.
Rollout
Live on all six CPH publishing sites. API authentication, anonymous denial, legacy-upload blocking, Assistant discovery and fleet priority were independently verified from the agent workspace. The administrator review screen and public release notes were verified in a browser. Local narration services are retired. Muse has not yet registered its twenty selected voices or completed a real narration.
Updating
- Operator-managed installation of the new must-use component on the six CPH publishing sites; existing publisher and Taylor Assistant packages remain unchanged.
- Use existing named administrator application passwords over HTTPS. Register exactly twenty real Muse voice IDs before claiming work.
- Keep client state and completion receipts. Reconcile uncertain results before requesting another article.
Scope and limitations
- The client coordinates work and uploads; Muse supplies the voice catalog and performs synthesis. No provider voices or generated narration are fabricated.
- A completed audio lock does not lock normal article editing and does not approve, publish, schedule or share an article.
- Missing heartbeats never cause automatic reassignment. Administrators must confirm the old agent is stopped before recovering its checkout.
